The Gyergyóremete Youth Wind Band program began in October 2012. It offers participants the opportunity to develop their musical abilities. Activities include individual instrument and music theory lessons, section rehearsals and full wind-band rehearsals. The band’s repertoire includes folk arrangements, marches, popular hits and film music. Since its founding the band has been conducted by music teacher Gyula Laczkó. The aim of the program is to establish a permanent wind band in Remetea that will enrich the commune’s cultural life.
Available instruments:
- Woodwinds: recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone.
- Brass: trumpet, tenor horn, hunting horn, trombone, tuba.
- Percussion: drum kit, bass drum, snare drum, glockenspiel, marimba.

Piano lessons started in October 2021, providing an opportunity for children who wish to learn to play the piano. In Remetea all the conditions are in place for students to get the most out of their studies, thanks to the specialist teacher and the quality pianos available to learners. The goal of the piano instruction is to develop children’s musical culture and personality, and for their performances at various events to enrich the commune’s cultural life.
